Georg Friedrich Kersting: Park Landscape with Spring
- 1808
- oil on canvas
- height: 40 cm
The early work from Georg Friedrich Kersting, created immediately after he finished his degree in Copenhagen, reflects the romantic perceptions of landscapes at that time. It also shows the proximity of the young painter to Danish art around 1800. The painting was later owned by the Danish royal family and was sold in an auction in Christiansborg Palace in 1864. The museum acquired the painting “Park Landscape with Spring” from its Danish owners in an auction.
