Inkwell by Fritz Reuter
- glass/wood with brass nails
- 19th century
- diameter: 20 cm
The author Fritz Reuter (1810–1874) used these writing utensils during his time in Neubrandenburg (1856–1863). The years spent in the City of Four Gates were Reuter’s most productive period. When he moved to Eisenach he gave the inkwell to Franz Boll, a descendant of the Boll brothers who were friends of Reuter’s, who worked as a doctor at Rome University. Franz Boll later gave it to the Neubrandenburg Museum.
