A bakehouse is built for several families (around today's Poststrasse) in 1844, which they use communally to save firewood in the making of bread. A wooden stamp marks the loaves to prevent confusion. The marking sticks carry the initials of their owners. Many of the stamps have a heart-shaped handle or imprinting surface. It is possible that the groom will have fashioned the marking sticks when furnishing his household. Copper beech, alder and ash wood is used. The inhabitants of Warnemünde are forced to bake their own bread as Rostock had forbidden the establishment of any guilds in the city.
