The bushel measures in the mill were used to measure the corn and survived in different sizes. As they were also the charging unit between the suppliers and the millers they had to be calibrated. The “Scheffelwröger” calibration has survived from the 17th century and was confirmed through a brand mark. The letters DR are the abbreviation for “Deutsches Reich” and the number 21 shows that the measure was calibrated in 1921. That had to be updated every year.
