Splint box with saying
- chipboard
- around 1850
- Waren
- length: 52 cm
The lid shows a couple with their arms wrapped around one another. The saying contains moral and religious ideals. “True love alone binds hearts to the greatest duty and leads us in peace into the palms of heaven.” The splint box came from the collection of the Waren folklorist Richard Wossidlo (1859-1939). The secondary school professor collected countless objects documenting the way of life of the rural and urban population in Mecklenburg, which can now largely be found in the outdoor museum in Schwerin-Mueß.
