Johann Georg Gottfried Bartheil was born in 1790 as the son of the court trumpeter in the court orchestra in Ludwigslust. The concert master of the court orchestra took him on as a student and introduced him to the court in 1811. Johann Bartheil was accepted as a member of the court orchestra. He was described as a violinist in the state calendar between 1821 and 1825. He died at the age of just 34 in Ludwigslust.
